Manatee County Council of the Blind

The Manatee County Council of the blind, (MCCB), an affiliate of the Florida Council of the Blind, is a membership based support and advocacy organization. MCCB promotes total inclusion in community, state and national programs and services and strives for equality of opportunity and meaningful personal achievement for people who are blind and visually impaired.

Meetings

Organizational meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at Trailer Estates located at 1903 69th Avenue West, Mark’s Hall, in Bradenton, FL 34207. Meetings are scheduled from 12:00 noon until 3:00.

Since its formal founding in September, 2010, MCCB has taken the lead in building a coalition with the Lighthouse Low Vision Education Center (also known as Manasota Light House), the Division of Blind Services, local Lions clubs and Southeastern Guide dogs to insure meaningful recognition of Florida's White Cane Law.
