Florida Council of the Blind Executive Committee Meeting July 7, 2026 The meeting was called to order by President, Mikey Wiseman on July 7, 2026 at 07:00 PM. Present were President Mikey Wiseman; 1st Vice President, Cassandra Jessie; 2nd Vice President, Shelley Sawyer; Recording Secretary, Elizabeth Bowden; Membership Secretary, Chantale Napier; and Treasurer, Sheila Young. Kati Lear joined the meeting as a guest. Sheila Young motioned that minutes from June 2 be approved. Cassandra seconded the motion which was not opposed. Treasurer’s report: Sheila Young reported that she is performing treasurer tasks. Sheila will also obtain a debit card from the bank for easier bill payments. Annette Carter has sent us a bill for $337.50 for work done on the web page with audio file upload. Shelley Sawyer motion that this bill be paid. The motion was seconded by Chantelle Napier. The motion passed unanimously. Fall Board Meeting Dates: We are inquiring about dates for the Board meeting. Membership: Chantelle has been performing membership tasks. Liaison Officers: Kati Lear reviewed the current liaison list which will be modified per our instructions and distributed. ACB Convention: Mikey urged us to participate virtually in convention. Elections begin on July 14, 2026. ACB Donations: Donations for last year were reviewed, and resulting in a motion made by Shelley Sawyer that $500.00 be donated to ACB media, and $500.00 be donated to the Florida hurricanes walk along with 4 $25.00 cash door prizes. The motion was amended such that the donation for the Florida Hurricane’s walk would be anonymous. The motion was seconded by Cassandra Jessie without opposition. Equipment: It is the time to purchase the computer for John Richards. Cassandra Jessie will contact him to begin purchase. Cassandra Jessie Motioned meeting adjournment.
