MISSION STATEMENT
Purpose
The purpose of the ACCB is to strive for the betterment of the total community through the following:
1. Through a representative community organization primarily of blind people;
2. By elevating the social, economic and cultural level of visually impaired people;
3. By improving opportunities in all areas of education, vocation, recreation and rehabilitation;
4. By encouraging and assisting the visually impaired to develop their abilities and potentialities and to assume their responsible place in the community;
5. By conducting a program of public education aimed toward improving the understanding of the problems of blindness and the capabilities of the visually impaired;
6. By improving public relations with various agencies and organizations in the community;
7. By providing for the free exchange of ideas, opinions, and information relative to matters of concern to visually impaired people;
8. Provide for the free exchange of ideas, opinions and information relative to matters of concern to blind people through periodic publications.
