FCB DISCUSSION LIST INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS
Before you fill out the form to subscribe to or unsubscribe from the FCB E-mail Discussion List, here are a few helpful hints to make
things easier:
First, special thanks to the American Council of the Blind (ACB) website for hosting
this List. ACB is only hosting the List and will not in any way be involved in
maintaining it; FCB will do that. The FCB List is moderated so be aware that everyone
who wants to subscribe will have to be approved before starting to post to the
List.
In order to be eligible to join the FCB E-mail Discussion List, you must be a current paid member of the Florida Council of the Blind.
Membership in the American Council of the Blind or any of its other state of special interest affiliates cannot be substituted as this list is
explicitly for members of FCB.
The FCB E-mail Discussion List itself is a way for members to express themselves freely on a variety of issues. These can range from
those on a local level to issues on a state or even national platform. So if you are one of those people who are interested in being a part of
this List, please read on about filling out the form.
Now, for filling out the form, for those of you that use a screen reader, please use the "CTRL" key to shut off the speaking after you hear
the first line, "Please complete this form if you would like to subscribe or unsubscribe to the fcb-l discussion list." Then use the "TAB" key
to navigate and you will hear a header, "Subscription Preference," then you will hear the first radio button described, which will be for
"Subscribe." (This is already checked as it is selected by default.) If you are already on the FCB List and you wish to unsubscribe, then tab
to the second radio button for "Unsubscribe" and use the spacebar on your keyboard to check it.
You will now tab to "Enter Your Name" and you will notice an edit box. At this point, hit "ENTER" to either turn the screen reader's Forms
Mode on or to shut off MSAA labels. Then you can type in your name and tab to the next edit box for entering your e-mail address.
Now you can tab to the "Submit request" button and either hit "ENTER" or the spacebar on your keyboard and you're done. Please note that there
are no links to direct you back to the FCB website. If you want to return, you must do that manually.
